About This Whisky

Sullivans Cove 23 Year Old American Oak Ex-Bourbon HH0619 is an exceptionally rare Old & Rare single cask release from the distillery's historic HH era. Filled on 21 May 2001 and matured for 23 years and 9 months in an American oak ex-Bourbon cask, it was decanted on 25 February 2025 at 47.6% ABV, yielding just 194 bottles.

HH0619 completes an unbroken lineage of Sullivans Cove whiskies spanning every age from 16 through to 25 years old. The cask originates from the HH era, the earliest period of Sullivans Cove distillation, when only 162 casks were filled between 1999 and 2003. Surviving whiskies from this period rank among the rarest in Australian whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Creamy buttered sourdough and vanilla custard, lifted by pine-lime, charred pineapple and creaming soda.

Palate: Luscious and mouth-coating: sweet oak, vanilla and maple with shortbread, milk lollies and ripe stone fruit.

Finish: Long and indulgent: buttery shortbread, pine nuts and bursts of lemon drops, passionfruit and vanilla.
