2026 Grosset Springvale Riesling 750ml

Overview

Springvale is Grosset's single-vineyard Riesling from the Watervale sub-region of Clare Valley. The 2026 release combines lifted lime blossom, lemon and lime citrus with distinctive mineral character, balancing generosity with elegance, freshness and a persistent finish.

Vineyard

The Springvale Vineyard was established in 2001 in Watervale and is now 25 years old. Originally selected as a typical but cooler Watervale site, it features thin red loam over limestone. As the vines matured, their roots reached ancient slate bedrock beneath the limestone, which Grosset considers a possible explanation for the pronounced minerality of recent releases. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically as part of Grosset's ACO Certified Organic and Biodynamic vineyards and winery.

Winemaking

The Riesling is hand harvested and produced using free-run juice with no fining.

“Lime, white flowers, cut fennel, green cardamom, a light spicy note. Quite juicy, but there’s also a light chalky grip here, white pepper and apple cucumber coolness, lime rind, a little quinine bite and perfume on a finish of excellent length. It’s a delicious wine, and quite approachable now for my tastes, though of course it will age surely too.”
