Overview
A bright, medium-bodied Southern Rhône-inspired field blend from Yangarra Estate’s biodynamic vineyard in Blewitt Springs. Led by Grenache and supported by Carignan, Counoise, Cinsault and Mourvèdre, this fresh, approachable red is designed for youthful enjoyment and can be served lightly chilled.
Yangarra Estate specialises in southern Rhône varieties grown across its McLaren Vale property, where altitude, ancient geology, ironstone-rich sandy soils and maritime influence create wines with freshness, clarity and a distinctive sense of place.
Blend
The 2024 blend comprises 70% Grenache Noir, 17% Carignan, 10% Counoise, 2% Cinsault and 1% Mourvèdre. The combination retains Grenache’s vibrant red-fruit character while introducing savoury complexity, spice and additional structure.
Winemaking
The Grenache was hand-picked on 2 and 4 April, while the remaining varieties were hand-picked on 5 April and fermented together. All varieties were destemmed, with 50% of the fruit crushed into open fermenters. After approximately 12 days on skins with very gentle maceration, the wine matured on lees for 11 months in seasoned French oak puncheons and foudre. It was bottled in February 2025.
Tasting Profile
Producer Tasting Note
With bright red fruit flavours and a juicy, smooth finish, it’s the perfect ‘chillable red’ for casual gatherings. Think of it as Grenache with friends, crafted for easy enjoyment.

This is quite juicy, but also a little savoury and meaty. Raspberry, boysenberry, orange peel and a little sweet spice. It’s medium-bodied, has some powdery grip to tannin, a bit of a blood orange tang though red fruits, and finishes with solid length. Nice wine all up.

Pale in the glass, it’s somewhat frisky in its mid-girth way with the pedal on freshness. Grenache’s red berry, redcurrant and cherry notes lead, backed up by some boysenberry and warm baking spices… this would be perfect coming up from fridge to cellar temperature for drinking alfresco on a summer’s day.
