2017 Giant Steps Tosq Vineyard Pinot Noir 750ml

VINIFICATION

Indigenous yeast. Fermented in small open fermenters - lots of whole bunch. Four weeks maceration. Post pressing the wine sails across to the Yarra for the completion of MLF and barrel maturation.

VINTAGE NOTES

2017 was long, dry and perhaps the coolest in the last 15 years. The cooler conditions had a huge effect on berry size and yields were extremely low. Nights during the ripening season were also very cold, there was a small snow event up on the hills in late March! Small berries and small bunches meant the fruit intensity was incredible. The organic sites maintained a lush green canopy right up to harvest and the fruit was pristine.
