About This Whisky

Created exclusively for The Whisky Club, this 13 Year Old Benromach is made entirely from Golden Promise barley, a heritage grain prized for its rich, oily character. Distilled across two small vintages in 2011 and 2012, the whisky was matured entirely in 100% first-fill Sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV. The result combines vibrant Sherry-driven fruit with a creamy texture, subtle traces of ash and the distinctive malt character of Golden Promise barley.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Bronzed rouge.

Nose: Manuka honey, thick treacle, rich fruit cake, vanilla and toasted almond.

Palate: Thick and creamy, with sultana, raspberry and waffle cone.

Finish: Campfire marshmallow and hazelnut affogato.

About the Distillery

Founded in 1898 near Forres in Moray, Benromach is a small Speyside distillery known for producing traditional-style single malt Scotch whisky. Acquired by family-owned independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail in 1993 and reopened in 1998, the distillery focuses on recreating the classic early 20th-century Speyside character, combining soft, fruity spirit with a delicate smoky edge.
