Overview

A vibrant and savoury McLaren Vale blend bringing together the lifted red fruit of Sangiovese with the richer, earthier character of Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark cherry and bright red fruit meet succulent berry flavours, savoury complexity and a supple texture, with seasoned French oak helping the two varieties come together in balance.

Vineyard

This wine is a blend from two certified organic vineyards in McLaren Vale. The Sangiovese comes from the Seaview district in northern McLaren Vale, where elevated slopes feature well-drained sandy soils over limestone and ironstone. The Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the Willunga foothills, with red-brown earth, significant limestone influence and clay-loam soils.

Winemaking

The wine was matured in seasoned French oak, supporting the fruit and savoury characters while adding texture and integration to the blend.

Producer Tasting Notes

Colour: Dark ruby red.

Bouquet: Aromatic red cherry and plum lead the nose, with lifted notes of dried rose petal and subtle spice. Hints of black olive and fennel seed.

Palate: Juicy red fruits of cherry and redcurrant flow through the palate, supported by bright acidity and gentle savoury notes of dried herbs and spice. Medium to full-bodied with a supple texture.
