2025 Ata Rangi Crimson Pinot Noir 750ml

The 2025 Ata Rangi Crimson Pinot Noir is a vibrant and approachable expression of Martinborough Pinot Noir from one of New Zealand’s most respected producers. Crimson is crafted to capture the fragrance, freshness and savoury detail of Ata Rangi’s vineyards while offering earlier drinking than the estate’s flagship Pinot Noir.

Sourced from younger vines and selected vineyard parcels around Martinborough, Crimson benefits from the region’s cool climate, free-draining soils and long growing season. The result is a Pinot Noir combining bright fruit with the fine structure and distinctive savoury character associated with Martinborough.

The 2025 release is beautifully aromatic, showing red cherry, raspberry, cranberry and wild strawberry, complemented by floral notes, subtle dried herbs and gentle spice. With air, hints of earth, tea leaf and forest floor add complexity.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, supple and energetic. Juicy red fruits are framed by fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins, while subtle savoury and spicy characters provide depth. The finish is fresh, persistent and elegant, making this an excellent introduction to the Ata Rangi style.

Crimson is designed to be delicious in its youth but has enough structure to develop gracefully over the medium term. Serve slightly cool and allow some air when young.
