Overview
A refined and mineral-driven red Burgundy from La Comme, one of Santenay’s Premier Cru climats. Situated at the northern end of Santenay close to the boundary with Chassagne-Montrachet, the site is associated with a particularly fine and precise expression of Pinot Noir.
The 2024 vintage delivers bright red fruit, freshness and aromatic lift rather than sheer weight. Fine-grained tannins and a distinct stony, saline character give the wine definition and length, combining Santenay structure with the restrained, detailed style of Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey.
Vineyard
La Comme lies at the northern edge of Santenay in the Côte de Beaune, immediately towards Chassagne-Montrachet. Its Premier Cru position produces Pinot Noir with notable freshness, mineral detail and finesse while retaining the underlying structure associated with Santenay.
Vintage & Winemaking
2024 was a challenging, low-yielding Burgundy vintage. Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey employed gentle extraction across the domaine’s red wines to preserve the delicacy and freshness of the fruit, resulting in a finely structured style driven by clarity rather than excessive concentration.
Producer
Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is based in Chassagne-Montrachet and has become one of the most recognised producers in the Côte de Beaune. After working at his family domaine, Pierre-Yves established his own label in 2005. Although particularly renowned for Chardonnay, the estate also produces a small quantity of Pinot Noir from carefully selected sites in Santenay and neighbouring appellations.
The domaine is known for a restrained, terroir-focused approach in the cellar, seeking purity, freshness and precise expression of individual vineyard sites.
