The Bluff is a Central Otago Pinot Noir from Nevis Bluff, a producer dedicated to crafting distinctive Pinot wines since 1998. The 2024 vintage shows an appealing combination of cherry, plum and dark berry fruit with floral, herbal and spice characters, supported by supple tannins and a fresh, balanced structure.

Region

Central Otago's warm summer days and cool nights encourage gradual ripening, helping Pinot Noir develop concentrated fruit while retaining natural acidity. Nevis Bluff works with low-cropped, hand-harvested fruit, with the region's vineyards characterised by free-draining soils and a cool continental climate.

Nevis Bluff has specialised in Central Otago Pinot varieties since 1998, with a focus on wines that express the character of their vineyards and vintages. Winemaker Matt Connell brings extensive international and Central Otago experience, including time with Wynns, Elk Cove, Peregrine and Akarua, before establishing Matt Connell Wines in 2015.
