Overview

'Joy & Bliss' is Down the Rabbit Hole's vibrant yet creamy expression of McLaren Vale Chardonnay. Made from 28-year-old vines, the 2024 vintage combines ripe stone fruit with fresh acidity and restrained French oak, delivering texture and complexity while keeping the fruit bright and precise.

Vineyard

Made from 100% Chardonnay grown in McLaren Vale, South Australia. The vines were 28 years old at the 2024 vintage, with fruit harvested on 23 February 2024.

Winemaking

The wine was matured for 12 months in French oak, comprising 20% new oak and 80% seasoned oak. The restrained use of new oak adds texture and subtle nutty complexity without overwhelming the Chardonnay fruit.

Producer Tasting Notes

Colour: Pale straw.

Bouquet: White peach and quince lead the nose, layered with a hint of roasted hazelnut and a lovely lift of honeysuckle.

Palate: The palate opens with juicy white peach, echoing the nose. A creamy mid-weight texture is balanced by fresh acidity. Subtle oak influence adds a fine layer of roasted hazelnut and a delicate creaminess, without overshadowing the fruit. Long, well balanced and complex, showcasing both fruit purity and restraint.
