2022 Woodlands Brook Vineyard Chardonnay 750ml

This Chardonnay comes from a 7-hectare, close-planted section of selection massale vines at our Woodlands Brook Vineyard.

The fruit was carefully handpicked, hand sorted, and whole-bunch pressed into barrel. Fermentation proceeded naturally, with no added yeast, and some malolactic fermentation occurring spontaneously.

After fermentation, the 2022 Woodlands Brook Chardonnay was matured in large-format French oak—mainly 500L puncheons and a couple of 1000L foudres—with 53% of the oak being new. The wine spent 10 months maturing before being filtered and bottled in January 2023.

Pale straw in appearance, this Chardonnay opens with aromas of flint and citrus, evolving into notes of white peach and honeysuckle. As it develops, floral and orchard fruit characters emerge. The palate is rich and generous, offering flavours of ripe rockmelon, white peach, and floral nuances, all balanced by bright natural acidity and finishing with a strong, structured length.
