The cooler aspect preserves brightness and aromatic detail, while the ironstone and sand contribute concentration, savoury complexity and structure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eVintage\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA normally wet winter was followed by a dry spring. Unexpected rainfall during December and January encouraged larger bunches and berry development, while warm conditions through February and early March promoted flavour ripeness and concentration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eWinemaking\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe fruit was picked on 15 March. Twenty percent was retained as whole bunches, while the remainder was selectively berry sorted and crushed.
